An essential in Clarke & Clarke’s core collection, Midori is an exceptionally soft, brushed, wide-width sheer—an adaptable staple for both cosy and contemporary schemes

Bringing the Amalfi coast to interiors, Midori is a relaxed, linen-blend fabric in a timeless, muted palette of natural, mineral tones and pastel hues

Midori drapes in soft, billowing folds and lends itself beautifully to relaxed, simple headings such as a slot top, finished with a simple 5cm hem, and can be styled to ‘kiss’ the floor or even ‘pool’.

Colour Information

We review and update our fabric colour range consistently, and colour names may occasionally change as new shades are introduced or existing shades are renamed.

If you are looking to match a previous order, we recommend requesting a fabric sample before placing your order, as today's colour with the same or a similar name may not be an exact match to a previous purchase.

As with all textiles, colours may also appear differently depending on screen settings and lighting conditions, so samples are the best way to confirm your chosen shade.

Please note: Our previous colour named Linen has been renamed Raffia. A new shade is now available under the name Linen.

For any orders placed before the 6th August we would advise ordering samples to ensure any new orders are for the correct colour.

More about headings

How will your curtains be hung?

The choice of headings revolves around whether you're using a curtain rod, wire or track.

The 2" & 3" tape is compatible with a track, the slot top headings are for use with rods & wires.

† This option may have an additional price that will be calculated based upon the dimensions chosen.

What is curtain gather or fullness?

When we speak of ‘gather’ or ‘fullness’ we are talking about the finished width of your curtain, including the soft folds  that you will traditionally see nets, voiles and curtains have. This means the curtain does not lie flat against the window or door, although this is something you can choose to have. We advise for nets and voiles that you choose 2.5x gather, this means that your window width will be multiplied by 2.5.

More about sides

Choose to have the sides of your curtains finished or unfinished.

Finished sides are hemmed & sewn to stop fraying, creating a longer lasting curtain. Unfinished sides are neatly cut and still ready to hang, but are more inclined to fraying over time.

Product Overview
What's the difference between net curtains and voiles?

Voile curtains are very similar to nets but for the geeks among us they do differ in fabric construction.

Essentially the threads in net curtains are knitted together while in voiles they are woven. This means nets tend to be a coarser fabric but also means they are cheaper than voiles as the fabric is easier to produce and they can be cut to size without the need for hemming sides.

Voiles do need hemmed sides to stop fraying, but the benefit is that they have a softer drape, and can come in more creative designs – colours, embroidery and fabric blends are all possibilities with voiles.

How do you hang voile curtains?

There are two main ways to hang voile curtains.

The easiest is to use a tension rod, which extends to fit your window and which holds itself in place. There’s no drilling required and they can be taken down easily if you want to wash your curtains. You can also buy telescopic rods that hang on sticky hooks as an alternative.

The traditional way and cheapest method is to buy a net wire. Net wires have eyes that fit into their ends, so they can be attached to hooks (screw hooks, or sticky) on the wall. Net wires are also good for narrow slot tops curtains.

Can voile curtains go in the washing machine?

Yes most voiles can go in the washing machine with no problem at all.

Just check the washing instructions if the voile is a fabric blend or has embroidery.

Generally we recommend using a hand wash setting on your machine as this will provide the best temperature and spin.

Once washed, hang your voile curtain with as little creasing or pegging as possible. (We don't recommend a tumble dryer as the heat can damage the fibres in the curtain.)

Can voile curtains be lined?

Yes, you can line voile curtains.

As well as increasing privacy, this also increase their thermal qualities.

Most of the time though, it’s used by customer who have fallen in love with a special  voile fabric and want it to be the star of their room. You can see our lined voile ranges here, or if you would like to talk to us about your ideas, please email us on hello@netcurtainsdirect.com

How do you maximise privacy with voile curtains?

The simplest way to maximize privacy is to increase the gather of the fabric – this provides a greater overlap of the fabric and is a superb way to increase privacy. We recommend a 2.5x gather for this reason.

In addition at NCD, we also provide a density rating for every net curtain in our range, from 1, the sheerest fabrics which maximize light, to 5 our densest designs or fabrics.

You can find more details on our density rating here
