New In: Café Styles You’ll Love

There’s a reason café curtains have quietly become one of our most-asked-about styles. Hung across the lower half of the window, they keep things private at eye level while leaving the top of the glass open to the sky. You get your privacy, you keep your daylight, and the whole room feels a little calmer for it.
This season we’ve added thirteen new café designs to the range, from pure linens and cosy textured weaves to heritage prints from William Morris at Home and breezy designer stripes. As always, every one is made to measure, so it fits your window properly rather than almost. Here’s a closer look at each one, and where we think it really shines.
Pure Linen: Pippin and Parchment
If you’re a natural-fabrics person (and plenty of us in the sewing room are), start here.
Pippin is linen in its finest, smoothest weave: soft to the touch, with a fluid drape that turns morning sun into a warm glow across the lower pane. Like all good linen, it softens with every wash and only gets better with time. We love it in a farmhouse kitchen above a butler’s sink, or a pared-back bathroom where the fabric can do the talking.

Parchment adds a fine, delicate stripe to a pure ivory linen base, with all the quiet elegance of old writing paper. Hang it at a Georgian sash, in a study nook or a breakfast room, anywhere you want something understated that still feels considered.
Texture and Warmth: Our New Fencasa x NCD Weaves
These five come from our own Fencasa x NCD collection, made for anyone who loves a home you want to reach out and touch.
Emery is relaxed and easy, bringing warmth to a room without ever feeling flat. It’s the hardworking everyday choice for a family kitchen, a utility room or a hallway window that sees a lot of life.
Reed is a chunky, linen-look stripe that reminds us of sun-bleached timber cladding. Its grounded, architectural rhythm sits beautifully in a Scandi-style kitchen, a seaside bathroom or a modern extension full of natural wood.
Bramble is your favourite knit, reimagined as a curtain. The soft bobble texture is cosy without losing its designer edge, so it’s perfect for a cottage window seat or a reading corner on a drizzly autumn afternoon.

Loom pairs a faux linen weave with a loose, undone fringe. It’s relaxed, a little bohemian and looks lived-in from day one, lovely in a plant-filled kitchen or a laid-back bedroom.

Heritage Prints from William Morris at Home
We were thrilled to bring two of Morris’s best-loved designs into our café range.
Strawberry Thief is a William Morris icon, made light. First drawn in 1883 and inspired by the cheeky thrushes raiding the strawberry beds at Kelmscott Manor, it’s reimagined here on a delicate, lightweight sheer in Chalk or Oat. Picture it in a Victorian terrace kitchen, a period bathroom or a cottage window looking out over the garden.
Michaelmas Daisy is a modern take on Morris’s original daisy pattern, with delicate flowers woven through graceful foliage inspired by medieval illuminated manuscripts. Printed on a lightweight sheer with a weighted hem, it drapes neatly and adds a touch of romance to a sunny breakfast nook or bedroom window.

Stripes, Scallops and Daisies
Fancy a bit more personality? These designer pieces bring pattern and playfulness while still letting the light flood in.
Mirabello Stripe from Harlequin brings the Aegean indoors. It’s a crisp, fresh cotton-blend sheer with a linen look and a subtle herringbone texture in the stripe, in Denim, Stone or Olive. Think terracotta tiles and sunshine on the worktop.
Nuvole, also by Harlequin, is dainty and decorative: an art deco-inspired sheer embroidered with delicate white scalloped detail. It’s made for an elegant bathroom with a roll-top bath, or a dressing room with a vintage feel.
Telltale is Sanderson’s relaxed coastal sheer, with soft vertical stripes on a linen-blend base inspired by the light of Monterey Bay, California. Choose Conch, Mimosa or Oceana for a seaside home, a sunroom or anywhere that could do with a sense of ease.
Daisy Dot scatters Scion’s playful embroidered daisies across a sheer textured base, and our team make each one up here on the south coast. Cheerful and fresh, it’s a joy in a family kitchen, a child’s bedroom or a sunny utility room.
A Few Tips from Our Team
- Take the drop to the cross bar of your window for that classic café line.
- Consider two curtains rather than one if you’ll want to open the window or draw them aside.
- Choose a flat gather for a modern screen look, or 2x gather for a softer, more traditional feel.
