Choose the heading type:
1. Pencil Pleat - made with a 3" heading tape with 3 hook positions or a 6" heading tape with 6 hook positions, double fullness. Curtains are supplied ungathered and no hooks. To create an even pleat, please ensure the draw cords are pulled equally.
2. Pinch Pleat - double and triple 5" pleats. Double pinch pleat is made to approx double fullness while the triple pinch pleat is made to approx 2.5 fullness. Curtains will arrive pleated to the correct size to fit your track/pole, therefore it is important to include all ovelaps and returns in your measurements.
3. Eyelet - 4 eyelet colours are available in 40mm. There are normally 8 eyelets per width and we use double fullness. We also add 4cm of fabric above the eyelet.
How To Measure
Width measurements:
For curtains it is important to measure your track or pole width and NOT the window.
If fitting a new track or pole we recommend that this should extend 15cm to 20cm either side of the window and at least 15cm above, but it is down to personal preference.
For curtain poles simply measure the width of the pole between any finials or end caps. This is the width that you need to enter.
For a standard curtain track simply measure the full width of the track including any returns, this is the width that you need to enter.
For curtain tracks that overlap in the centre you will need to measure the full width of the track and the width of the overlap. Add the two together and that is the width that you need to enter. Please note that overlap tracks are only suitable for use with a pencil pleat heading.
Drop Measurements:
When ordering a pencil pleat or pinch pleat heading and using a curtain pole with rings, measure from the very bottom of the ring to where you want the curtain to finish. This is the drop measurement that you need to enter.
When ordering an eyelet heading you need to measure from the top of the pole to where you want the curtain to finish. This is the drop measurement that you need to enter. We will make the curtain by automatically adding 4 cm of fabric above where the eyelet sits on the pole. For this reason, we do not recommend positioning your pole close to the ceiling as your curtains will catch. Please ensure that you have enough clearance to accommodate the 4 cm stand up above the eyelet.
When ordering a pencil pleat or pinch pleat heading and using a track, measure from the top of the track to where you want your curtain to finish. This is the correct drop measurement that you need to enter.
We would suggest the following drops for your curtains:
- To the sill.
- 15-20cm below the sill.
- Just above the radiator.
- 1.5cm above the floor.
Tiebacks - These are made to fit the size of the curtain. They are crescent shaped, made with buckram stiffener, interlined and come with a standard brass or chrome rings.
Please note that anything custom made, made to order, or cut to size is fully non-returnable so please do double check your measurements. If you require any assistance, please do contact our team by emailing hello@netcurtainsdirect.com
