Ready Made
Often a quicker alternative to custom made is our express nets and ready made items. Net Curtain on the roll and all ready made panels and curtains come in certain standard sizes. You may be lucky enough that your sizes match, so it’s always worth checking in our table below. You may also be able to use a standard size item at your window even if it’s not an exact fit . If you hang outside the window recess you should aim for the fixing to be 10cm above the window and at least 10cm below the sill but you may wish to hang to the floor, anywhere in between or even allow the fabric to pool on the floor for a stylish effect. If you are hanging inside the window recess you should aim for a drop 1cm shorter than the top to bottom measurement. If you can't find the exact drop, its usually better to go shorter rather than longer. You could aim to at least cover the glass which may be 5-10cm less than the window frame. Can you adjust where the wire or rod hangs? Also a scalloped or wavy bottom hem looks better with a gap at the bottom rather than a straight edge.
Remember you can usually use nets 1.5” / 4cm shorter without a problem, and maybe even shorter. It is all down to personal preference and your window style.
